Available Here Check Ingredients List KAKE’s whole ethos is about challenging beauty standards, rewriting the rules, and actually serving the people who use their products, not manipulating their insecurities, they're a small woman owned brand who have not only shook the beauty world by the shoulders, but revolutionised it. Hands up, I was definitely influenced on Instagram to buy this, and though I'd never looked into the brand, the ethos or even the full range of products, I opted for the full essentials kit, go hard or go home right? Right off the bat, the packaging chefs kiss, getting into this whole box just felt sleek, precise, luxury even! - No Lies Lash Curler, of course, simple, elegant and sturdy - See Me Mini Handheld Mirror, probably the cutest thing I'll ever own and if you know me and how many times I check my face in any reflective surface a day, essential - KAKE Scrunchie, genuinely you can never have too many, these are cute, and not garish, perfect branding - KAKE Don't Fake It Serum Mascara - well, you'll see.

Cosmetic products with bold white text on black packaging. Includes black mascara, eyelash curler, and patterned compact. Green strands in view.

So let's get into it - This is genuinely one of the most innovative mascaras I’ve seen hit the market in years, maybe ever. KAKE Cosmetics Don’t Fake It Serum Mascara feels like the definition of their brand mission for sure.

A tubing mascara and lash serum and adjustable wand?!

Some products claim to be “multitasking.” This one actually is.

A lash serum infused tubing mascara with a bendable wand sounds like something you’d imagine at 2am when you’re spiralling through beauty TikTok… not a real product created by a small indie brand. Yet here we are.

My first impressions? Literal ‘ooooo.’

I don't really know what I was expecting scent wise, but I was surprised that there wasn't really one, I mean, if you must know, it smelt like mascara....not much more can be said on that one.

The first swipe with the wand kept straight was a great experience itself, smooth, clean, controlled, the formula wasn't too wet or too dry, the balance is perfect for this type of mascara, but the real magic happened when I bent the wand.

Two black mascara brushes with spiky bristles, one curved, one straight, on a white background. The image focuses on their texture.

As someone with vitiligo, a disease that has turned the majority of my already rubbish lashes pure white and the small ones even more awkwardly hard to reach, being able to angle the wand so it actually gets into every tiny corner and wraps every single one of white hairs felt borderline life changing. The flexibility, pure brilliance.

The lash serum part… actually works. Against all my expectations.

Full transparency, I didn’t expect much from the “serum” claim, so I didn’t track my lashes. Didn’t take before pictures. Didn’t monitor anything. It wasn't the reason for buying this mascara and I had a rough track record with lash serums as it is.

Until one morning I applied it like normal and audibly went:

“Where the fuck have those come from?”

My lashes did look longer, and fuller, and just, bloody, good! I even marched to my mother, who casually said;

“Yeah, I noticed them a few days ago… I thought you knew.”

So yes. Although obviously not my main reason for buying this mascara, it has absolutely contributed to growth and overall lash health.

Daily wear test: no flakes, no clumps, no panda eyes. Ever.

I’ve worn this mascara every day bar weekends since October and not once, not once, has it flaked, clumped, smudged, given me panda eyes or irritated my eyes, and I watched Wicked: For Good wearing this..(if you know, you know)

And the removal? Hands down the easiest tubing mascara removal ever. Warm water, gentle pressure, done. No rubbing. No tears. No drama.

And the price? Girl math says it’s basically free.

£25 on a mascara is usually out of my “drugstore girlie” comfort zone. I bought it because the hype intrigued me. Remember that whole lash serum part didn't register in my brain...

But now? Knowing it's a legit working lash serum and a gorgeous tubing mascara that not only coats my little white lashes and makes it look like I'm wearing falsies?

That’s two products in one, which means, by girl math standards, it’s actually a bargain.

And when something becomes a staple, an actual makeup bag essential? The price becomes worth it. Every time.

Final Verdict:

KAKE’s Don’t Fake It Serum Mascara is the real deal. It’s innovative, effective, gentle, and genuinely changes the lash game, especially for people with tricky lashes, sparse lashes, or lashes affected by conditions like vitiligo.

I will 100% be repurchasing this lil beauty. A permanent resident in my makeup bag. A disruptor in the mascara world. And honestly, one of the easiest beauty recommendations I’ve ever made. Since the release of the Don't Fake It mascara in May this year, they have since gone on to hold their first event for their recently launched Don't Fake It Lash Serum Mascara in Cocao, not only is this brand aesthetically spot on, on social media, but they are educational, down to earth and informative and genuinely give a shit. I can promise you - this is the brand to watch. buy yours here
