October Soundtrack - For When You’re Mostly Fine, But Not Really (Spotify Playlist #2)

October has been a strange kind of limbo month for me, part reflection, part rebuild. The nights are darker, the air feels heavier, and apparently, my playlist followed suit. It’s that beautiful balance between melancholy and motion, songs that make you ache a little, but keep you moving anyway.
Something was definitely stirring in me this month but below are a few songs that carried me through.
President - Conclave
This has been on repeat constantly and I mean constantly. There’s something intoxicating about how clean and deliberate this whole song feels throughout until you get this huge surge at the end like all of your held in emotions have just poured out finally.
Imagine long night drives, headlights blurring, motorway cats eyes in the rear view, and this track hitting full volume like a confession your heart knows but your mind doesn't yet.
It's just genius IMO, Charlies voice (it is Charlie - fight me on it) delicate, more exposed, vulnerable *chefs kiss*
I'm not sorry about it, I'm so grateful for President right now.
Vistas - Back of the Car
This is a band that is fairly new to me and this song specifically hooked me instantly, I remember the exact moment I clicked 'add to liked songs' it was the line - 'how can you break what is already broken down' - for some reason it just got me right in the feels and it's become a firm favourite this month for the indescribable emotions it stirs in me, its a whole mash up of emotional truth, longing, hope and despair, just beautiful. It feels polished but not overdone. There’s a clarity in the instruments, the inflections and rawness of the leads voice feel very intentional, he described this track as one of the bands more emotionally exposed songs, though I've not delved too deep, I do have a few of their songs on my list and I get it, this does feel very, real..?
YUNGBLUD - Zombie
I’ve slowly been getting back into YUNGBLUD, I'm not sure how but I seemed to lose him in the hype, but Zombie was the perfect re-entry point. (Thanks to Han Jisungs insta cover for leading back here)
This song genuinely hurts to listen to but it's the kind of hurt that is beautiful and necessary. The track feels different to his earlier stuff, it still carries the same energy, but now, it's like controlled madness and has an almost theatrical vocal delivery, it's still angry, still honest, just a little more grown up, I can't wait to take a deep dive into this album.
The Monthly Recap - October

Emotional Wreck Anthem
Zombie by Yungblud.
October was a sad one - but there's beauty in sadness I suppose, and I just bloody love this playlist for an emotional release.

Good read!! ☺️ I've not listened to any of presidents new music since the singles but after reading that I think I need to!
