Quick Summary

The Olay Super Cream is a lightweight, hydrating SPF moisturiser that melts into the skin, protects well, and leaves a glowy, makeup ready finish. The refillable packaging is a win for me, especially with the price point. The scent is quite strong for me again, but the formula itself is balanced, wearable, and easy to integrate into any routine.
First Impressions
It's a nice little pot, I do love the fact that it is refillable, just make sure you're aware that the pot is round and the refill is a slim tube, so the bulk of it, is definitely the pot - it's a nice design though, heavy duty and pretty for those of you that like to showcase your skincare, the text is a little too 'Canva' for me though.
With this having SPF 30 too, it's a big plus for an everyday moisturiser, especially one that actually sits well under makeup - but we'll get into that.
Texture & Application
It's surprisingly lightweight, silky, and easy to move around. Sinks in quickly, doesn’t ball up, and doesn’t leave a white cast.
The starch base, dimethicone, and glycerin work together to create this sort of soft, matte but hydrated finish that makes foundation glide on, I applied foundation straight on top of this and had no issues at all with finish or durability.
Instantly, hydrated, smooth, slightly radiant, without feeling heavy.
Scent
Same story as the serum in this same range, it's not bad, but it's definitely noticeable, it's not the same scent as the serum however, it's more of a dull musky scent if that makes sense, it didn't stick around though, which is a plus, so if you’re fragrance sensitive, this might be too perfumed for you, but if you are someone who does like scented skincare, you’ll enjoy it - simple.
Ingredients That Matter
Niacinamide
Balances tone, reduces redness, strengthens the barrier, always a welcome addition.
Vitamin C (3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid)
Brightens and helps prevent sun related pigmentation when paired with SPF.
Collagen Peptide (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4)
Helps maintain firmness and smoothness.
Glycerin
Deep hydration without heaviness.
Vitamin E
Adds antioxidant protection and supports the SPF.
SPF 30 (chemical filters)
Octocrylene, Homosalate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, solid UV filters that provide broad spectrum protection.
Performance
After using consistently for 2 weeks, I noticed that my skin stayed hydrated all day, from being outside in the freezing cold, to inside a hot office, my skin never felt dry, or like it needed a drink, which as a serial mister, is for sure a win for me.
No greasy residue left on my skin at all, which I have noticed from some SPF moisturisers in the past.
Works very nicely under makeup with no need for a primer, it does leave a subtle glow, but not the fake kind, my skin just looks nourished and healthy all day. This is absolutely a moisturiser that hydrates, primes, brightens, and protects in one go, without feeling like a thick SPF.
Currently sitting at £19.99 for 0.05L on the Boots website, I think this is a reasonable price for the benefits this product has overall, and also the accessibility of the product, this was knocked down from £39.99 on the Boots website however, so at that price, if it does ever goes back up, I would probably not purchase this as first time user, the refill pot however, currently stands at £17.
It genuinely feels like a “put together” face in one step. My only gripes again are that the fragrance is a bit much for me, I can deal with that as, like I mentioned, it doesn't seem to stick around, that, and the fact that the brand does have an iffy stance on being cruelty free, you can find out more about that here - again that's a personal thing - it is a good, well rounded, beautiful product, I do just struggle sometimes separating the product and the brand, if you can do that, it is a very beautiful product.
Who I’d Recommend It For
Normal, combination, and dry skin, SPF forgetters who need sun protection built into their moisturiser, anyone who likes lightweight, glowy bases and people who want a simplified AM routine
Not ideal for very sensitive skin or those who avoid fragrance.
